Tryout Schedule

  • Please bring mouthguard, reversible jersey or light and dark shirt with number, and appropriate attire (sneakers, no jewelry etc.)

  • Be on Time.

  • Remember you must be cleared by nurse to tryout

9th graders report to locker room dressed and ready at 2:15PM

*Tryouts 2:15 – 3:45 PM

10th/11th/12th graders report to the locker room at 5:15 PM

* Tryouts 5:45-7:45 PM

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

9th graders report to locker room dressed and ready at 2:15PM

*Tryouts 2:15 – 3:45 PM

10th/11th/12th graders report to the locker room at 3:15

* Tryouts 3:45 – 5:45 PM

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

9th graders report to locker room dressed and ready at 2:15PM

*Tryouts 2:15 – 3:45PM

 10th/11th/12th graders report to the locker room at 3:15

* Tryouts 3:45 – 5:45 PM

 

*Freshman, JV, and Varsity will practice separately starting Thursday, December 3rd, 2008

* There could be some cuts each day from V to JV


CCHS Boys Basketball - Criteria for Selection

 1. Player must be in good academic standing

 2. Player must have no ongoing discipline problems

 3. Player must understand and comply with basketball and school policies at all times.

 4. Player must have an updated Physical on record with the nurse

 5. Player must have the ability to be loyal to the basketball program.

 6. Player must have the ability to commit to be present from the 1st day of tryouts to last game of the season. 

 7. Player must have the ability to be a responsible member of the basketball program (punctual, take care of equipment and uniforms, communicate with coaches and teammates)

 6.  Player must have the ability to accept the concept of a role on a team (can change) that is in the best interest of the team.

 7.  Player must demonstrate a high level of basketball skill and ability, along with an understanding of multi-offense and multi-defense approach to the game of basketball.

 8. Player must demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative attitude with teammates and coaches.

 9. Player must demonstrate good sportsmanship (respect teammates, officials, opponents, and the game).

 10. Player must have the ability to take feedback from coaches and make adjustments

  • How to play off the ball defense

  • Ability to learn plays and a multi-offense and multi-defense approach
